| The Little Balkans Review, a Southeast Kansas literary and graphics journal , cordially solicits poetry, fiction, non-fiction, photographs, and art work for publication in forthcoming issues. Under our current editorial policy, each issue of the magazine will have approximately ten pages of poetry, ten of graphics, thirty of fiction and thirty of non-fiction. Prime consideration is given to works by Kansans and former Kansans, as well as work set in the Little Balkans. However, consideration is also given to work with similar regional flare. Preference is given for non-fiction subjects related to the Little Balkans. At least half of the poetry of each issue will be devoted to poets who have had limited previous publication. Manuscripts should not exceed thirty-five double spaced typed pages. Works of local and regional artists are desired, as well as vintage photographs depicting the life and social customs of the Little Balkans and surrounding area. Black and white photos of sculpture and over-size art are preferred. Contributions may be submitted as digital files to LittleBalkansReview@gmail.com or by mail to: The Editors Mailed contributions should include a self-addressed stamped envelope and an email address for correspondence if available. We endeavor to report within six weeks, but the number of submissions may delay this time frame. Be assured a reply will be sent for all submissions. Upon publication, we can pay only with copies of your issue. This journal has achieved a refreshingly creative literary and graphics interpretation of the regional magazine. A shared editorship of artist, writer, teacher, poet, and scientist may be the reason for such overall excellence. The editorial policy assures a substantial mix of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and graphics related to the Little Balkans and surrounding areas. The whole is presented in an 81/2 by 51/2 inch-black-and-white booklet format. The content provides a palatable education on history, customs, and the arts while often introducing new talent.
